Finding Peace

Welcome back!
Finding peace in a hectic life is not always easy, but it certainly is necessary. Figuring out ways to keep yourself stress-free is important in order to lead a comfortable productive life. When your mind is quiet of the chatter it is at peace.
Make a conscious decision to start living peacefully and more happy. You may need to break some old habits and replace them with healthier ones. Eventually you’ll feel lighter, more composed, and your life will start to flow with ease.
Below are 10 simple techniques to get you on your way to being peaceful:
- Take a deep breath. Better yet, take a few deep breaths. Oxygen purifies the blood stream and rejuvenates the brain. No matter how stressed or angry you are, a deep breath will instantly make you feel much better.
- Take time out. Do a few morning stretches or yoga before you jump up to start your day. If need be, wake up five minutes earlier than usual.
- End your evenings with a bath. Throw some rose petals into the water and use your favorite scented oil. Drink a cup of chamomile tea which is known to promote a sense of inner peace.
- Spend time in nature. Go for a hike or enjoy a peaceful walk in the park if it’s more ideal. Put down a blanket on the grass and lay out for a bit. Listen to the birds, watch the sunset, and gaze at the stars.
- Let go. A trick for letting go of a negative emotion is to direct your attention to that emotion you’re feeling. Slowly the anger or sadness dissolves. Try it next time.
- Manage your time Don’t get in over your head trying to get everything done at once! Working that way only serves to stress you out making being peaceful nearly impossible!
- Write a list, break everything up into manageable chunks, prioritize, and check things off as you go. Before you know it, all your work will be done.
- Improve on the situation. It’s difficult to be peaceful when dwelling on something that’s out of our control or not going the way we intended. Instead work on fixing the situation or accept it as it is.
- Go with the flow. Some things just won’t always go according to plan. It’s okay! Be open to a different solution or a different path. You may even discover a simpler way to get it done.
- Take a moment before reacting. If you’ve been repeating patterns that are hindering you from being at peace, then take a step back before reacting in the usual manner. Take a breath, assess the situation, and make a calm decision. If you’re not calm, don’t make a hasty decision. Wait until you’re able to make a rational choice.
