Balancing the Solar Plexus Chakra

How’s your intuition? Do you have plenty of personal power? Are you digesting food properly? Are you manifesting your life the way you’d like? It sounds strange, but all of these traits are tied to your solar plexus.

Your solar plexus is your third chakra and is located between your ribcage and navel. The sound associated with it is “MA”

Ties to the Third Chakra

Your solar plexus is tied to digestion, nervous system and the immune system. The organs it affects is the gallbladder, pancreas, duodenum, liver, and small intestine. This chakra is put under a lot of pressure these days because of our diets. In order for the digestive system to work properly, we must eat a well balanced diet. Because the physical and emotional bodies are tied, one affects the other. When we continue to eat poorly, we’re affecting the energetic level of the solar plexus as well.



Personal Power

Your sense of self originates in the solar plexus. Your confidence, the way you perceive yourself and others depends on the health of the solar plexus. For example, if you feel inferior or superior to others, the third chakra isn’t balanced. If you were constantly around authoritative figures who made you feel dumb, clumsy, or worthless, then your relationship with the world will reflect this. Your level of personal power isn’t as strong as it could be. If you always listen to other when making decisions in your life, your solar plexus becomes blocked and you lose your personal power.

Wisdom

The solar plexus is often called the “Wisdom Body” because here is where intuitive intelligence is stored. I read in a book that when Japanese kids are asked where thinking comes from, they point to their bellies. The Western world points to their heads. That “gut feeling’ comes from your solar plexus. When this chakra is in balance, you’ll be more aware of nudges received from your gut. And when your gut talks, and you listen, life is good.



Emotional Imbalance

When the solar plexus is balanced, you experience happiness and appreciate it in the simplest forms. The sun is a symbol of the solar plexus. A good meditation is to visualize the healing and loving light of the sun. Imagine yourself surrounded in a warm caccoon of this energy. Sit there for as long as you wish.

Have you noticed that when you’re in an uncomfortable situation, you cross your arms? You’re subconsciously protecting your solar plexus. When you feel confident, you walk with your arms to your sides with your solar plexus exposed. If you find yourself crossing your arms, ask yourself why you feel uncomfortable.

Activities to bring the chakra into balance

Yoga Pose: Lord of Fishes

Kneel down on a blanket and rest on your heels. Slide your buttocks to the right of your feet and rest on the ground. Then lift your left leg and cross it over your right knee to the other side. Shuffle around until you’re comfortable.

Then twist your body by bringing your left arm behind you resting it on the ground. Your right arm will rest on the outside knee of your left leg. Hold your arm up at a 90 degree angle. Keep your back as straight as possible to promote a good twist.

When you feel ready to release, breathe in, then exhale as you unwind. First bring your left arm around then follow the movement with your head and rest of body. Repeat the steps on the other side.

Besides Reiki healing to bring balance to the chakras, here are the stones and colors to use:

Crystal Healing

Look for yellow stones like amber, citrine. Place the stone over the solar plexus while you lie on your back and imagine the energy from the stone entering and balancing your body.

Essential Oils

Amber is the scent that brings the solar plexus into balance. Wear it whenever you feel you need to bring this chakra into balance. I even rub a little bit of the oil around the rim of a yellow candle during meditation since yellow is the color of this chakra.

Change Your Vibration to Manifest Your Desires

What energy are you sending out right now? Are you happy? Irritated? Interested?

We all experience different emotions throughout our days. If you want to manifest your desires, do so when your energy level is positive.

How do you know if your energy level is positive?

Self-awareness

Tune out the outside world. What are you feeling? Are you frustrated because you don’t have what you desire? Don’t try to manifest your desires during moments of irritation or frustration. Instead, shift your attention and thoughts away from the source of your angst.

Are you frustrated because you don’t have enough to pay the bills this month? Stop those thoughts! Breathe in. Breathe out. Walk away from what you’re doing, think about something else (something positive), or go for a stroll. Eventually those feelings of frustration will subside. Once they do, focus on attracting wealth.


When you do this you’re changing your vibration to manifest your desires. Meditation is effective to get into a relaxed state. Once relaxed, imagine yourself living in luxury. Daydream you’re wealthy and have all the money you need to pay all your bills.

It’s during my moments when I’m generating positive feelings that things in my life happen to fall into place. I meet the right people, get the perfect job offers, or attract money.

To manifest your desires, be aware of the thoughts that enter your mind and release the emotions that are not serving you. Put yourself in a pleasant state and focus on what you want.

That’s what happened to internet entrepreneur, Gurbaksh Chahal, after creating his second online company called BlueLithium. This is after selling his first company, Click Agents, for $40 million at the age of 18.

What advice did he have for others?


He says not to follow money, but instead follow your passion. The money will come. “Any time you start something with the idea that money’s everything, you’re going to end up making decisions that are based on greed, based on short-term goals, and not eventually long-term happiness.” He was quoted during an interview on Oprah. You can find his interview here.

This is the law of attraction at work. Gurbaksh was doing what he loved and eventually everything fell in place…and money fell into his pocket!

Personal growth blogger, Steve Pavlina, says the same thing. He wrote his blog for years until recently offered the opportunity to write a book. He lives a very comfortable life.

No matter what the economy, she makes lots of money and teaches others to do the same. How do they do it? The law of attraction. The moral of the story? You don’t have to be Gurbaksh, Steve, or Debbie to have the law of attraction work for you. We all have the ability to live the lives we want and attract the things we desire!

Are Spiritualists Freaks?

Looking for a “Life Strategian”

Published author, former attorney and executive at ad agencies and studios now ready to transfer my skills to work that provides satisfaction, sustainability, a feeling of worthwhileness–and of course, a working wage.

I need someone with proven success in helping people like me identify, understand, and execute life transition decisions. I call this person a “Life Strategian.”

…Psychotherapists, Law of Attraction experts, “motivators” and spiritualists need not apply.

(Emphasis my own. I shortened the ad, but the point remains the same)

After reading this online ad I chuckled to myself. I didn’t ask this person why the specification against “spiritualists” or “law of attraction experts.” I’m guessing, but he or she must categorize “spiritualists” as zany or “out there.”

Then I’m reminded of spiritualists and law of attraction experts who’ve made a pretty good life for themselves. They’ve attracted abundance, happiness, and wealth and help others do the same for themselves. Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra come to mind. I also think of personal growth blogger, Steve Pavlina.

By contrast, I learn about Debbie Bermont, offers marketing services and is an expert on helping others with their business growth. She helps people bring more wealth into their lives by helping them discover and overcome blocks which keep them from success.

P.S. She’s an energy worker, which fits under the blanket of spiritualism. The kicker? She’s worked with Fortune 500 companies while incorporating her energy work and spirituality.

I listened to a free teleseminar she has on her site. Sure she begins the seminar with a grounding exercise and she talks about the energy she’s feeling, but she also made great points.

We all have limiting beliefs or “rabbit holes” as she calls them. We also have a choice as to how we want to live our lives. Do we want to be prosperous or live in a state of lack?

She predicts the energy shift in 2009 and is certain this year is the perfect time to become an entrepreneur.

…now ready to transfer my skills to work that provides satisfaction, sustainability, a feeling of worthwhileness–and of course, a working wage. Sounds like he or she may benefit from entrepreneurship.

Debbies’s reasoning for making the move in 2009?

CEOs are being outed. Greedy large corporations are caving. We’re undergoing a huge shift and the majority of people are embracing the change.

Not to get too out there, but Debbie says she’ll teach you how to ride the energy wave to success. I paraphrased, but that’s the point.

She has testimonial after testimonial of people who have read her books, been to her seminars, or read her free e-courses and have all experienced a growth in income and business growth. So maybe these “spiritualists” or “law of attraction experts” are on to something. Ya think?

The Lemonade Diet

What if after drinking that concoction you would drop major pounds, cleanse and detox your entire body from waste that’s been accumulating over the years, gain a stronger handle on your appetite, and build energy? Would you drink it then?

If you’ve like most, you’ve probably heard of The Lemonade Diet. If not, I’ll catch you up.

It’s been called The Master Cleanse, the 10 Day Diet, and the Lemonade Diet. Whatever you call it, it’s all right. The ingredients are listed above. That’s all it takes and depending on your weight, you should drink 6-12 servings a day.

I tried this detox recently after I saw the great results my friend was experiencing. I’m a healthy eater, but I also know the importance of cleansing the body once or twice a year. In Ayurveda, it’s actually preferred to cleanse the body each season. Ooops. There’s a first time for everything.

I had plans set for a friend’s birthday dinner the weekend following the day I began the Lemonade Diet. It was perfect. I would cleanse my body, shed a couple pounds, feel great and look great for the dinner.

Day 1

It actually doesn’t taste as bad as I had imagined. Of course I had to get the measurements right because my throat nearly closed in on itself the time I got carried away with the cayenne pepper. You can actually take cayenne pepper pills rather than mixing it in with the water.

Will you be hungry? Probably. Will it be hard? Maybe. In the original book, it’s recommended you drink more water when you’re hungry. I found an e-book that gives you a few foods you may eat that won’t ruin all your efforts. I don’t like strict guidelines, and I’m sure you don’t either.

Day 3

I made it to Day 3 and I’m already noticing a difference in my waistline. I was a bit lethargic on Day 2, but nothing I couldn’t handle. I know in the long run it’s worth it. It’s said the first three days are the hardest because you’re eliminating the toxins from the body.

Interesting Fact: Some people pass gallstones, which are hardened cholesterol balls, which can be fatal if not removed.

Depending on your current diet, how often you cleanse, and how often your normal elimination cycle is, you may have many pounds of waste that needs to be released.

Day 5

Halfway through! I’m feeling great and I surprisingly experienced no cravings. Your mind eventually becomes comfortable with the idea you’re cleansing and you don’t crave foods.

More Facts: The Master Cleanse Diet restores vital glands and boosts your cells. Originally the main purpose for the Lemonade Diet was to cleanse the body. Weight loss was a nice side effect. Most people lose a couple pounds a day! That’s a pretty nice side effect.

Day 10

Day 10 came in a flash! After drinking only water for 10 days, you ease into eating. If I had to do over, I would have followed this e-book from the beginning. With this book, you’ll surely be successful. I did it the hard way.
