Your Sacral Chakra, or your second chakra, is the seat of emotions and creativity. It’s located below the navel and above the pubic bone.
What’s going on with the Sacral Chakra?
The lower abdomen, large intestine, bladder and reproduction organs are tied to your second chakra. Just as babies are created here, your inspiration and creative energy generates here too. Makes sense doesn’t it? Enjoyment, pleasure, stimulation, and our ability to learn and develop are characteristics of this chakra.
Healthy versus unhealthy chakra
If you’re overly sensitive, or emotionally rigid, your second chakra may need healing. Lack or fear of sensuality, overly jealous, lack of happiness, guilt or fear over sex, pleasure, or enjoyment, indicate a chakra that’s in need of healing. Not being inspired or difficulty manifesting things into your life reflects an unhealthy chakra.
Creativity and manifestation is a natural part of life. When your chakras are all balanced, your life flows with much ease. Think of those people who ask for something and it seems to instantly come their way. Do you know their secret? They’re in alignment. You can be in alignment too!
Many times it’s discovered that adults with blocked sacral chakras didn’t experience much affection in their youth.
Sacral Chakra Statistics
Located below the navel, this chakra glows orange.

Activities to bring the chakra into balance
Take pen to paper. “Channel.” Set some time aside to scribble away. It doesn’t matter what you write just allow your feelings and thoughts to flow. This e-book gives you tips on unleashing your creativity.
Draw. This is one activity I do in my Goddess Workshops. Pull out your old crayons or colored pencils then draw away. Pull out whatever color calls to you and just go at it. When you’re done, look at your picture. What feelings do you get when you look at the picture? Many times you don’t even know what’s going on inside you. It takes either someone pointing something out to you, or you becoming very observant of yourself. This exercise is a good first step.
Yoga.
Do Baddha Konasana by sitting on the floor, bending your knees and touching the bottom of your feet together. Then exhale and bring your feet closer towards your body. Make sure to keep your back straight.
Orange stones like citrine or carnelian are great for balancing this chakra.
Lay on your back and place a stone on your sacral chakra. Imagine and feel your chakra absorbing the energies of the stone. Sit there for as long as you feel necessary.
Meditate.
Draw up energies from the earth into your root chakra then watch as it enters into your sacral chakra. Watch negative energy be released as the earth’s energy cleanses the chakra. Then take more energy and watch it travel up your whole body and finally release through your crown chakra.
