Cleanse your body, lose weight, and be healthier!

Panchakarma is a pre-treatment used as a part of Ayurveda to cleanse the body of toxins by combining five therapies each designed specifically for the client. Ayurveda has existed for over 2,000 years and originated in India. This therapy acknowledges the union of the body, mind, and spirit to create a balanced individual. A nice side effect is weight loss because your body is naturally balanced and working at its optimal health.

According to this ancient healing system, people are categorized into three body types: kapha, pitta and vata. Each person requires a different diet and lifestyle for optimal health. A practitioner concludes which body type a client is and determines what imbalances, if any, the client is experiencing.

The therapy essentially starts off the client with a clean slate. Herbs and oils are specifically made for each client and is massaged into the body during the therapy. Other treatments include: warm oil poured over the forehead, a sweat treatment, gentle enema, and oil is placed in the nostrils. From then on, the client follows the proper lifestyle and diet for her body type.

Eating an ayurvedic diet and living the lifestyle brings the body into balance. Ayurveda was discovered in India over 5,000 years ago and influenced other ancient civilizations.

Ayurveda characterizes bodies into three types (doshas): pitta, vata, and kapha. Each dosha has different characteristics related to the body and mind. When out of balance, disease may occur. It’s important to know your dosha to follow the proper diet to bring your body into balance for optimal health. During the full treatment, your body not only cleanses itself of the toxins, but weight loss is a great side effect!

Here’s a quick rundown of the doshas:

Vata: This body type tends to be slender and has a tendency to worry.

Pitta: Typically the pitta is a medium frame and tends to become angry or irritable.

Kapha: The kapha individual normally has a broad frame and is the least active of all three doshas.

After the body type and imbalances are determined, the panchakarma therapy begins. This cleanses the body of toxins and clears the way for a newly balanced body! Eating natural foods is the best option always.
