Do you speak up when you have something to say?

An imbalanced throat chakra means you’re not expressing what’s going on inside your heart. I don’t mean to start on an honesty quest and tell every single person you know just what you think of him or her! Instead, express yourself in a healthy way. If someone hurts you, let your voice be heard.

Expression also includes creativity. Sing, write, or perform. All of these are healthy expressions of the throat chakra.

Body Parts Ruled By the Throat Chakra

Accordingly, the throat and neck is ruled by this chakra as well as the thyroid. When I hold my emotions in, almost immediately my throat gets sore. This also happens when I’m stressed then I realize that I wasn’t speaking up for myself.

Balancing the Throat Chakra

Chanting
Chanting and mantra meditations release throat problems. The natural sound the completely relaxed chakra makes is “AAAH”. Take a deep breath and chant this sound for as long as possible. Begin chanting loudly then continue softly until the sound is only in the mind.
Release Past Hurts
Remove blocks from the throat by tracing back feelings of past hurts that you may not have expressed. Write those emotions down on paper, then symbolically burn them away.

Camel Pose
The camel pose in yoga is great for balancing the throat chakra by encouraging good blood suplpy to the neck and keeping the energy moving.

Sit on your heels on top of a blanket or mat. Clasp your hands behind you.

Inhale. With the exhale, allow your head to drop back and at the same time raise your arms a little behind you.

When you’re ready to release, let go of your hands and on the out breath bring yourself back to sitting posture.

Repeat this three times.

Colors, Stones, Scents
The throat chakra is represented by the color blue. Perfect stones to use are any blue ones like Aquamarine, Lapis, or Blue Opal. Place the stone of your choice on your throat and imagine yourself absorbing the healing energies of the stone.

Frankincense is the scent of this chakra. I like to wear essential oils for whatever chakra I’m bringing balance to. I recommend frankincense natural essential oil and dab a few drops on your throat.

Animals and plants are very sensitive to it. I send Reiki energy to my cat. At first she seemed alarmed because it was out of the ordinary. She would sniff my hands and run off. Now she’ll lie around for as long as I want to send her energy.

Car drives are especially nerve-wracking for cats. To ease their fears, hold one hand over the cat carrier and send energy. Of course, practice the rules of the road and send Reiki during the stops! Just like humans, animals find Reiki to be very relaxing.

Tips for Giving Reiki to Animals

• Often when animals want to receive Reiki, they’ll come towards you if they sense you’re giving Reiki to yourself or others.
• Others will intuitively know where they need the energy and position themselves to best receive it. Learn to develop a deeper intuition with your animals.
• Many times animals become frightened and leave. In those cases, try absent healing or beam the energy towards them.
• Use your intuition to listen to the animal. They’ll let you know if they’re uncomfortable or happy.

Tip: Give Reiki to animals in pain. Older animals who suffer from arthritis can greatly benefit.

Although sometimes referred to an “energy healer,” it is the client who is doing the healing. The “healer” is a conduit of energy. The client has his own free will and is able to accept or reject the healing.

We’re all created of energy. In fact, you can feel your own energy field between your hands. Place your hands close together and concentrate on the feeling between your palms. To enhance the feeling, slowly move your hands closer and farther apart. You may feel tingling, warmth, or a pulling sensation.

Some people are more adept at seeing the energy field or aura. To look at your own, hold your hand out and softly gaze around the edge of your fingers. It works well if you place your hand above a dark cloth in a room with average light. You’ll see a glow around your fingers. That’s your aura!

Typically, a practitioner is intuitive and utilizes this ability to best suit the client’s needs. It is many times discovered that a physical ailment is actually a result of a spiritual dilemma. Also, the client doesn’t need to be in the same room as the practitioner during a session. Energy is called upon at will and can be sent anywhere-even across the world!

Reiki therapy is energy healing and is used for balancing the body and relaxation. The various positions in a session focus on the seven major chakras, but the Reiki energy flows where it is needed. Also, even if you live in another country, I can still give you a session because reiki can be sent absently.

How Does It Work?

I becomes a conduit of the universal energy. Reiki flows through my crown chakra, down my heart, through my arms, and finally out of my hands. I place my hands over your chakras or wherever I feel you need attention.

What Does It Feel Like?

Experiences are unique, but some of the most common include: warmth, tingling, or a feeling of energy flowing through the body. Some may not feel anything at all, but be completely relaxed. I had a client see brilliant colors while I was working over her third eye.

Is It Harmful?

No. Your body knows what it needs and how much. I can’t send too much energy and short circuit your body. I’m merely a conduit and your body is absorbing what it needs and sending it where it needs to go.
